Blue dot wonders: Better life somewhere else?
Thu Jan 17, 2013
I was raised in a blue state and have lived mostly in blue states during my 50 years of life. However, during the past 8 years I have lived in very conservative red cities/states (Colorado Springs, Kansas). Our family moved to Kansas because of the quality of life and good schools.
Grocer, 70, gives stores to his employees — for free
Tue Nov 27, 2012
I remember shopping at his stores when I was a student at Bemidji State. A wonderful man and it is great to see that a local businessman can do so well against competition from Wal Mart and other big chain stores. He is one of the many people that have made Bemidji such a wonderful place.
Teens banned from shopping alone on Black Friday at Mall of America
Tue Nov 20, 2012
Does not matter whether your kids are "troubled" or not. All teenagers when left unsupervised and in groups will at some point will become unruly. This is why the law requires parents to be responsible for their children until they turn 18.
Animal rights group: Hunters shot our flying camera
Tue Nov 20, 2012
For shooting flying cameras, I highly recommend a .50 caliber weapon. Should bring that vulture down quick with maximum damage. But if you really want to be sporting about it, get a few of those radio controlled hobby aircraft and try a little kamikazee action on that spy bird.
Walmart on iPad-throwing employee video: 'It made us wince'
Fri Nov 9, 2012
I have personally seen Wal Mart employees dragging boxes with 60 inch LCD TV's across the floor from the stockroom, and watched one fall off the shelf the employee placed one on. All of their merchandise gets banged around.

10 gadgets to turn your dorm room into geek heaven
Fri Jul 27, 2012
Interesting to see that most of the gadgets are focused on making sure the student has an ample supply of alcohol readily available. The author of this article does a disservice to everyone heading off to college by once again reinforcing the stereotype that college is all about partying.
Tens of thousands evacuated in Colo. wildfires
Tue Jun 26, 2012
This is not a problem of thinning vegetation. Homes are being lost because embers from the fires in the mountain areas, wild areas where there are no homes, are being driven by wind down into the city and landing on homes.
Mom challenges school sunscreen ban after daughters are severely burned
Mon Jun 25, 2012
Some of you need to actually read the article and try to comprehend what that story actually states before you comment. The mother did not expect the school to apply the sunscreen. The mother provided her kids with sunscreen to apply to themselves in case they became exposed to the sun.
Best Buy shrinks as 'showrooming' persists
Thu May 31, 2012
Here are a few of the major problems with Amazon and on-line shopping. Local or national businesses with physical stores have both property and sales tax they have to pay to local governments which puts them at a price disadvantage that they have no way to overcome.
